Welcome
Since 1985, Summerfields Nursery has provided a warm and nurturing start for children in the heart of Hailsham. Based in Summerheath Hall and operating term-time only, we offer early education for children aged two until primary school transition, featuring two large indoor rooms and a spacious garden for exploration and play. We pride ourselves on the strong, multi-generational relationships we've built with our local families.
Child-Led Learning in a Warm and Caring Environment
At Summerfields Nursery, children are at the heart of everything we do. We believe they learn best through play and curiosity, so we plan "in the moment" by following their unique interests. Our nurturing environment prioritises emotional wellbeing and independence, with a curriculum thoughtfully shaped around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to ensure every child makes strong progress in a safe, calm, and exciting space.
Play and Curiosity
Children thrive when they are free to explore what fascinates them. By encouraging natural wonder through play, we help your child build confidence and problem-solving skills in a fun, hands-on way.
In the Moment
We don't stick to rigid schedules; instead, we plan "in the moment." By following your child's unique interests as they happen, we turn every spark of curiosity into a meaningful learning experience.
Nurturing Environment
Your child's wellbeing is our priority. We provide a calm, safe, and caring space where they can grow in independence, ensuring they feel valued and excited to learn every single day.
Our Team and Ethos
Our team is made up of experienced practitioners who share a genuine passion for early years education. While all our senior staff hold full, relevant qualifications, we also take pride in mentoring younger staff training with us. We believe in nurturing the next generation of professionals, prioritising staff wellbeing, and actively encouraging ongoing training and development. Our passionate team doesn't just teach; we build warm, trusting relationships that form the foundation of our ethos. By placing children at the heart of our practice, we use responsive "in the moment" planning to turn their natural curiosity into meaningful learning experiences.
